Students are expected to read daily, have discussions about reading and write about their reading using stop and jots, organizers, and other digital mediums. They will learn to write narrative, argumentative and informative essays.

Visual Arts with Ms. Schubart
Scholars learn about cultural and historical points in history and the arts of those topics. Those topics are then translated into art projects like, drawings, paintings and collage art projects.

Strings with Mr. Jones
We are exploring musical expression through the lens of audio engineering via SoundTrap, an online recording program. Throughout the year we will be creating Podcasts, Radio Dramas, Interviews, and Songs (bot writing and producing) all while connecting with the overarching theme of arts history and history through Humanities/Social Studies classes. 6th Grade classes will also learn music theory in preparation of next year's performances.
Dance with Ms. Grace
Grade 6 Scholars will be working on dance tableaus that reflect either that protest posters created in visual arts or their lyrics they created from music (Systemic Racism Unit) They will be using google chrome book video to upload their tableaus
Grade 7: Scholars are creating their own dances incorporating dances from the Medieval Times. They are using Flipgrid to create their work. (Middle Ages Unit)
Grade 8: Scholars are working on a 3 part East Indian choreography series. They have used Flipgrid to creatively create Mudras ( hand gestures) video where they demonstrate 5 mudras, in East Indian language and its meaning
Part 2: create a short story using Mudras and some body movement with explanations
Part 3: create a Bollywood dance that incorporates East Indian style and their own.
